Project Report: Interior Woodwork & Decoration – Shahba Hotel

Executed by: Arabesque Shapes Workshop

This project involved a comprehensive aesthetic and functional upgrade of the main lobby, reception area, and elevator corridors. The design focuses on a "Modern Luxury" theme, seamlessly blending warm wood textures with premium marble and metallic accents.

1. Custom Reception Counters

  1. Linear Slatted Design: The counters feature a contemporary base made of vertical wooden slats, creating a rhythmic visual texture that adds height and sophistication to the lobby.
  2. Material Fusion: Each unit is topped with Forest Green marble, providing a durable and luxurious service surface.
  3. Metallic Finishes: The bases are finished with gold stainless steel kickplates, protecting the woodwork while complementing the hotel’s "SH" gold branding prominently displayed on the facade

.

2. Architectural Ceiling Elements

  1. Decorative Timber Beams: Large-scale wooden panels were installed across the ceilings of the elevator bays and main corridors. These "floating" beams break the monotony of the white ceilings and add a sense of architectural depth.
  2. Integrated Lighting: The layout was precision-engineered to accommodate recessed lighting and HVAC vents, ensuring that the decorative elements enhance rather than obstruct hotel utilities.

3. Specialized Wall & Staircase Cladding

  1. Curved Woodwork: One of the most technical aspects of the project was the cladding of the spiral staircase’s underside. The team successfully applied flexible wood veneers to match the complex curves of the structure.
  2. Elevator Portals: Wooden headers were installed above elevator entrances to bridge the design between the wall marble and the ceiling beams, creating a unified visual flow throughout the high-traffic areas.

4. Technical Execution & Professionalism

  1. Operational Sensitivity: As shown in the progress photos, the Arabesque Shapes team executed the installation within an active hotel environment. This required high-level coordination, the use of professional scaffolding, and protective coverings to maintain the integrity of existing furniture and flooring.
  2. Premium Finishing: All wooden surfaces were treated with high-grade, fingerprint-resistant finishes to ensure longevity in a high-traffic hospitality setting.

Project Summary:

Arabesque Shapes Workshop has successfully transformed the Shahba Hotel lobby into a space that truly embodies its motto of "Luxurious Hospitality." Through the expert application of wood, marble, and gold accents, the facility now offers a warmer, more modern, and upscale welcoming experience for its guests.
