Project Completion Report: Custom Woodwork & Interior Fit-out

Location: Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah Executed

This ambitious project was executed to furnish and equip modern academic and entrepreneurial spaces at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah. The project features high-quality, custom-built woodwork that blends the elegance of warm walnut veneer with contemporary design elements, creating an inspiring environment tailored for innovation, learning, and collaboration.

Project Highlights & Key Executions:

1. Meeting & Collaborative Work Zones

  1. Main Boardroom: The focal point is a large, premium conference table finished in beautiful walnut veneer, paired with a matching custom wooden wall panel backdrop. The room is outfitted with ergonomic black office chairs and a large presentation screen.
  2. Open Workspaces: The team designed and installed spacious, modern white workstations paired with comfortable seating. To maximize functionality and aesthetics, built-in wooden shelving units (in a matching walnut finish) were integrated directly into the walls, providing elegant and accessible storage solutions.

2. Reception & Waiting Lounges

  1. Lounge Furniture: The reception area features a custom-designed coffee table that seamlessly combines a sleek white finish with a central walnut wood insert. This is complemented by comfortable fabric armchairs and sofas in charcoal and light gray, alongside minimalist white side tables with elegant metal legs.

3. Auditorium & Training Atrium

  1. Tiered Wooden Amphitheater: Serving as the specialized core of the project, a large, multi-level wooden tiered seating structure (finished in walnut) was designed and constructed for open lectures and interactive sessions. It is completed with colorful seating cushions (red, green, and gray) and coordinated with artistic wall murals depicting Makkah and entrepreneurial quotes.
  2. Open Atrium Lounge: Custom built-in wooden bench seating with angled backrests was installed around an indoor artificial grass planter, bringing a vibrant, natural feel to the interior. Additionally, a massive, freestanding wooden grid-shelving unit was erected nearby to serve as both a functional library and a spatial divider.

4. Quality Assurance & Material Finishes

  1. Premium Materials: High-quality walnut wood veneers with a refined matte finish were used extensively throughout the project, ensuring the furniture looks natural, luxurious, and remains highly durable for academic use.
  2. Meticulous Handover: As seen in the documentation, the workshop's commitment to quality is evident in the careful protective wrapping applied to all pieces—from chairs and tables to screens and cushions—ensuring everything remains in pristine condition prior to the official launch.
  3. Architectural Integration: The custom woodwork seamlessly blends with other interior elements, including the terrazzo-style flooring, artificial greenery, and the industrial-style exposed black ceiling with suspended square LED lighting, creating a highly cohesive and modern academic environment.
